Having played cricket for Gloucester and England, I’ve been privileged to be coached by England cricket legends Andy Caddick and Mike Atherton and played alongside Chris Tremlett and Geraint Jones. I’ve played rugby against the likes of Worcester’s Marcey Garvey and Gloucester’s James Simpson-Daniel, taken to the hockey field for Wales, and on the football pitch I once scored a hundred goals in a single season. That’s only 26 less than Pelé at his peak, and while his were for São Paulo and mine were for the Lydney under-10’s, it’s still worth mentioning in my opinion.
If I’m not playing sports, I’m watching them. And if I’m not watching sports, well, then I’m probably ill. I’ve visited dozens!of sporting grounds around the country, followed the British Lions in Australia in 2001 and worked at the Celtic Manor resort (host of the forthcoming 2010 Ryder Cup) where I met a whole host of top golfers such as Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter and Padraig Harrington. I’ve even played the course there myself, so I’ll have some insider insight when the big event rolls in!I play sports, I watch sports and I love sports. And what I like more than anything is sharing my experience and enthusiasm with an audience who love sports as much as I do.
