Experience

I recently graduated with a First Class B.A (Hons) degree in Media Production and was chosen by the University to receive The Sony Award for the top TV Studio student for 2011. During my degree I became involved with extensive TV studio work involving multi camera operations and studio production techniques. This has enabled me to become comfortable with presenting to camera and understanding the production process involved. During my degree studies I had work placements at BBC Radio Suffolk where I became involved as a presenter for their outdoor broadcast recordings for news segments for their mid morning programming. This involved identifying items of local interest, agreeing content solutions with programme producers, preparing OB material for presentation over air at specific times during the day. I had to work to defined deadlines and to a professional standard. I also became involved in Community TV and Community Radio in my free time working with the local community service providers as a presenter covering local events of interest which were then broadcast via the internet and over air. This involved me in the complete production process and gave me a background knowledge of running a community based television and radio service. I have demonstrated a hunger for knowledge and experience and have shown that I can then apply this to my working environment to achieve increasingly higher levels of attainment. I believe the learning process never ends and that it is the journey as much as the destination that is so important to achieving ones potential
